Hello – we’re Alain and Anne Spitaels-Lefèvre.  We live at Eksaarde, not far from Lokeren in Belgium – it’s roughly midway between Antwerp and Ghent.

altIn 1995, Alain became the proud owner of his first two Newfoundland dogs : Tyouk Du Jardin de l’Ours and Tibo Du Jardin de l’Ours, who was a few days
younger.   Anne had to wait until 1998 before she welcomed Xenia Du Jardin de l’Ours, a Newfoundland bitch and her little darling.

It appeared that the bloodlines of Tyouk and Xenia matched perfectly.  We hesitated for a while, but after careful consideration we decided to go for a first litter of pups – we realised that anyone contemplating breeding animals must be fully committed to the responsibility and hard work that is involved.

From these bloodlines, our first ‘Rascals’ were born on 1st December 2001:
eight Newfoundland he-dogs and one bitch.  Although we were charmed by all nine of these little rascals, we particularly lost our hearts to brothers Aaron and Aidan.

Poor Tibo could only act as the ‘rich uncle’ – and is why the kennel is called ‘From Tibo’s Rascals’, so that at least on paper his name will be remembered for ever.

This is, in short, how these beautiful, lovely and fantastic dogs gave the name
‘From Tibo’s Rascals’ to our kennel.

We wish you a lot of fun on our website.

A heavy paw and a wet nose from all the Rascals!
